AOL sent me a postcard saying I signed up for AOL Dulles VA
I was wondering if anyone else has received a postcard from AOL stating Thanks for joining American Online! This notice confirms that following your free trial, you have elected to have your monthly AOL service charged to the phone number for this address. And you know you didn't sign up for it.
I called AOL and told them I didn't sign up for AOL because I have Sprint DSL. They said someone from my phone number called and signed up. (I live alone and I didn't sign up for it)
I smell another AOL scam brewing!

They said someone called from my home phone. First of all, I have had no friends that have used my home phone to place a call. Secondly, after reading all the bad things regarding AOL, there is no way in h*ll I would want to call & sign up for AOL. Thirdly, I posted the message to see if anyone else had the same problem, not to receive comments like yours. I know for a true fact that I didn't call them & none of my friends called them from my home phone!

Maybe someone you know did it. It happens more than you know. Maybe you were getting some info on it and inadvertantely signed up for it. It too happens alot. Before jumping to the conspiracy theory and scam hysteria, think outside the box.
