America Online ripoff business from hell consumer fraud deceptive company victimized many consumers Florida
I too have been ripped off by AOL. I cancelled my service in July 2001 and have just noticed that they have been charging my checking account for the last 7 month @23.90 per month. I called their customer service reps and was told that it had been noted in my account that I indeed had called and cancelled my service but I could only get back 1/2 of the money that they stole.
Is Arthur Andersen keeping AOl's books? Does AOL ever get audited? How can an auditing company not notice that thousands of former customers are still being charged for a service that they no longer are using.
If you or I were to steal money from someone elses checking account, we would be thrown in prison. We all must stand up against this company and change what is happeneing to thousands of people. Please everyone here, file a claim with your state Attorney General's office. It is free and the forms can be found online. I spoke with my state office today and was told that I have a claim, I just need to fill out the paperwork and submit it.
