I was taken by AOL also, I was foolish enough to believe them about there free trail, when I called to cancel it, a person called Jacqui862 told me I could try it for 30 more days at NO CHARGE, well guess what it showed up on my phone bill the other day, so I called to complain and got a very rude lady who swears I was never told that, I still have no answers and I know for a fact that AOL has a history of telling people to keep trying it and they will not charge. So please beware because they are a bunch of money hungry lying s****.

Michelle, I'm so glad things are going so well at AOL that you have the time to troll the Rip-Off Report and bash people who are nothing more than victims of AOL feet-dragging. Its easy to sign up for AOL but the "terms of service" are so labyrinthine that no one can extricate themselves without having paid for at least two months of service that they don't even use. I hope that your new corporate masters are happy with your apple-polishing and you get that promotion you are craving. However, after having run their subscriber base into the ground and subsequently nuked a thriving company like Time Warner, its more likely your new bosses are too busy getting ready to hand the keys to the company over to Bill Gates to notice your boot-licking. Maybe you should stop using that AOL connection to harass the innocent and use it to start looking for a new job. If you do get that promotion, I hope you like rainy weather and coffee. BTW: AOL-Time Warner stock trades at about $14 a share. Analysts value the TW portion at around $13.75.

When you set up an account with America Online, you are given a free trial because we want you to try our service. When you read the Terms of Service, it states that you are entering a payment method for us to bill to once the free trial is over. If you want to cancel, you must call within the free trial at least 72 hours before the bill date (which is the day after the free trial ends) to cancel, and you will not recieve any billings. However I am asuming that you are part of the vast majority that do not feel that agreeing to something before reading it is nessessary. I would suggest before you start verbally bashing something that you know nothing about, read your terms of service, and then when you feel incompetant enough for doing so we would love to welcome you back to America Online.
