This is the message I received from Major O'Connell (Commander, Gwinnett County PD's Professional Standards Unit) -- **** BEGIN MESSAGE-TEXT **** dear walt--please excuse the delay in replying to your inquiry. i was attempting to get educated regarding the circumstances of the complaint. i just met with det. cheeks' commander and was assured that as far as georgia law is concerned there is no violation. i was also assured that as of this morning (031103) ,alyon has been ordered to cease using the report from our agency. i hope this is of some help in your particular situation. Major M.K. O'Connell Commander Professional Standards Unit **** END MESSAGE-TEXT **** so, as we can all see, alyon is not to use Cheek's report as a shield anymore... Have they violated the date of 11 March? Thank you for this site, it is a wonderful forum.

Great news Way to go Walt!! without Cheek's report as backup, Alyon has lost all its credibility. Although I believe Alyon will still use the report anyway. I have written the New Jersey BBB twice and have angrily protested their continual " satisfactory " rating given to Alyon. They have not responded. A quick E-mail to New Jersey BBB from some of this group would help. .I asked that the charge for long distance created by Alyon be removed from my recent bill. The telephone company was aware of Alyon and removed the charge. FIGHT EVERY CHARGE THEY MAKE.

First, I apologize for the triplicate comments-above. There is a minor victory in that Alyon has been ordered as of 11 March 2003 to cease using the "Cheek-report" to hide their activities behind. Major O'Connell was very professional in his reply to me and did speak at length with Cheek's Commander.

Please take opportunity to call the attention of the Gwinnett County Police Department's Professional Standards Unit (oversees the Internal Affairs Division) and is commanded by Major Mike O'connell [email protected] I forwarded to the Major excerpts from the Rip-offReport and the threatening email I received from "Alyon". I also cc'd "Alyon" so-called customer service the message to the Major.

I just sent an email to Major Michael O'connell, Commander of the 'Professional Standards Unit' of the Gwinnett County Police Department addressing Alyon's use of Det. Cheeks name and 'report' in light of the irrefuttable demonstration on television of that report's total lack of validity.

Perhaps, in light of demonstrated inaccuracy of Detective Cheek's report and the continuing use of that old material, we could legitimately consider making the Gwinnett County Police Department's Internal Affairs Division aware of this wrongful document and its continuing mis-use.

HE NOW KNOWS that our claims are legitimate, and that Alyon/eGroup's items WILL AUTOMATICALLY, ILLEGALLY, SELF-DOWNLOAD & INSTALL TO ANYONE'S COMPUTER. Yet he still sends the same BS report to the victims? This man is supposed to be a trained SPECIALIST IN COMPUTER CRIMES, yet he did not know? He was totally oblivious to what Alyon and eGroup were doing to HUNDREDS, if not THOUSANDS, of INNOCENT AMERICAN CITIZENS? He had not EVER, AT ANY TIME, been able to recreate ANY OF OUR CLAIMS prior to the WSBTV report? We now have proof of him 'admitting' the truth, and any future reports from the GCPD HAD BETTER STATE THE FACTS. I agree with you, I think HE SHOULD DO SOMETHING TO UNDO THE HARM HE HAS PERSONALLY CAUSED. Admitting HE WAS WRONG would be a real good place to start. Thanks to Ed Magedson for having this site and our new Consumer Advocate-Gregory. Read this report and click on the news report! http://www.ripoffreport.com/view.asp?id=47937

There is a long ripoff report by an attorney who has been in contact with Cheeks.(although Cheeks did not re..turn some calls) ALso Cheeks location information has been mentioned on numerous reports. I think there is also a telephone number for him. The dectective should be told that the company is using his absolutely false report in responding to complaints and HE SHOULD IMMEDIAT- ELY CONTACT THE COMPANY AND ADVISE THEM TO NO LONGER DO SO. Only problem he probably will not do so as it will make him look worse than he already is and the company will continue to send out the report anyway., If he is a good cop, he will see he made a mistake( as we all do at times)prepare a new report for Alyon. If the company continues sending out the old report, it becomes a criminal offense. You may want to CONTACT his boss and without rancor explain the detrimental effct the report is having and how it is hurting everyone's case.
