alliance moving and storage dba A & R Transfer crooked ripoff moving company
Alliance Moving and Storage dba: A & R Transfer is a crooked company. I used them to help move things for me from Dallas to LI, NY and they damaged a lot of my things. I completed the appropriate paperwork, as per their instruction, for the insurance, but this company has been ignoring me for months now and I am fed up with being ignored and do not know what else to do to get their attention.
I found this moving company online and was surprised when they showed up at my apartment in a Ryder van, not one of the companys. Then they were 3 hours late didnt leave until 1am the next day.
After moving my things, they were stored in Denver, Co. awaiting more things to move with mine so that theyd have a full truck going up to NY. During this time, I decided that I did not want to move to NY afterall and asked them not to move my things anywhere.
I called them and told them to keep the stuff in Denver and to call me before they actually start driving. They didnt. I ended up paying an additional $2000 for them to move the stuff from NY back to Dallas because they didnt call before they left Denver.
The contract and insurances forms stated that I could get an estimate or they would pay me $.60/lb. So, I got an adjustor to estimate the damages. The bill came to about $2000. So, I wrote a letter to Alliance and included the pictures, the contract and the estimate.
They havent called me back since March and I am worried that if I wait too long, theyll just rob me of the $2000 that should never have been paid to them because they decided not to call me before they left Denver like I asked and the $2000 damages they caused to my furniture.
This company does not have a webpage/email and will not answer my phone calls or letters. It is getting me very frustrated. I contacted the Attorney Generals Office in Colorado and Texas, BBB, Transportation Board and several Consumer Advocacy groups. All I could do now is hope that these crooks will give me my money without me actually taking them to court.
