My sister's computer is down right now.. I am posting for her.

I went to Albany Ford asking to see a Ford Escape. I was never shown one. They steered me to a 2000 Suzuki Vitari(which was a rental car with 32,000 miles)They took my drivers license and keys. I asked for them back two times during the time I was there. They kept pressuring me and had me sign a contract before I knew what was going on. I did NOT recieve a copy of the papers I signed at this time.

After much thought about the way I was treated,I went back on Monday to get my car back. It was parked in the same place. They refused to let me have my car back,I still had the title.

My son came back the next day and was told they had sold my car at the Florida auction. I recently found out Albany Ford had sold it to a local car lot, R & J Auto Sales. (they sell all their trade ins there) Guess they can get the trade ins off the lot quickly that way!!!! He refused to leave till they found a

vehicle I would be more satisfied with. They promised 8.8 % interest. Of course, they wouldn't finalize the deal at this time.I had to return the next day. At that time they upped the interest rate to 11.32% and added sales tax they so convienently forgot to add and other insurance.

I ended up signing 4 different contracts during this transaction. Who knows what they changed on each contract. Neither I nor anyone in my family, friends, and aquantiances will ever do business with Albany Ford again!!!!

Now the "Service Engine Soon" light is coming on this '98 Ford Explorer. They won't work with me scheduling a time that is convient to me. Anybody got a solution my problem? Is there any way to recoop my lost. I have completely lost all the equity I had in my car that was paid off.

Linda

I understand exactly what happened to you because I have done business with this company. Because trying to resolve any situation with them is futile, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I went on the web and did a search for the better business bureau. I was able to file a complaint on-line. According to them, I should expect a resolution in 30 days (I think it was), but knowing Albany Ford, I won't hold my breath! Anyway, surprisingly, they had a satisfactory record with the BBB, but I was thinking that that would not last long if more consumers that have been victimized by this company would complain. I'm not sure what good it will do, but its worth a shot, right?
