ALAMO CAR RENTAL Conned me into upgrading my car by insinuating the car I had prepaid for with TUI was going to be too small and then added CDW against my wishes Sanford Florida
After an 8 hour flight and having beend drenched from head to foot on our way to ALAMO Sanford Airport office due to a horrendous thunderstorm we were subject to what can only be described as a good old fashioned con-trick. We were none to subtely informed that the hire car which was pre-paid as part of our package holiday would be too small for our party. With 4 adults and associated luggage to consider we agreed to an upgrade at the expressly quoted 14 days at $25 ($350). No mention of any other charges and having earlier speciffically stated we didn't require Colliaion Damage Waiver (CDW) cover.
Drenched and weary we signed in the circled areas (too numerous to mention) and went on our merry way. The day after arriving I decided to go online and check my credit card statement to discover ALAMO had charged me $860 dollars including CDW which I had previously declined. The moral of this story is 1. never use ALAMO where you have the choice and 2. if you do need to use them never agree to an upgarde without having the breakdown of costs in front of you at signature stage. ALAMO are a trully shameful and duplicitous company. BEWARE.

You FULLY ADMITTED to the world the lack of COMMON SENSE. You blame them because YOU failed to read what you were obligating yourself to by NOT reading the contract and going along with the CDW which you say you didn't want! I'll never understand what in the world is wrong with you people other than the "Dumbing Down of America"! You sign a legally binding contract without taking time to see what you're obligating yourself to! Absolutely incredible! Of course you people always come up with some excuse like it was raining, it was dark, I was tired, I was about to have diarehha! When you discover what you agreed to, oh, it's always THEIR fault! What a bunch of garbage. Another one for the books of "The Dumbing Down of America"!
