Reserved a car online at the beginning of June 2014 for 3 days. Reservation showed a cost of $146.00.
Arrived to pickup car. Was asked for credit card and provided it. Was handed the rental agreement and the amount I was charged was $418.00.
I was never informed the cost went up by a factor of 3.
I refused the car at that price since it was not what I reserved.
I asked for a refund, and was told it had been done and provided a receipt.
Alamo didn't refund all my money. They refunded some, but kept about $65.00.
I called them at the main 800 number, but the person that I spoke to just didn't know anything and was not trying to help me in any way. The person wouldn't even attempt to contact anyone to verify what I was telling them.
I got the phone number to the actual Alamo counter and called them. After many attempts, someone answered the phone. I was told that 'whatever I was charged' it was probably standard procedure.
I asked for a manager or owner and was told the Alamo in Austin Texas is a franchise so I had to call the 800 number.
