What a scam!

This "staffing agency" located me on Career Builder and then called me over and over and over for the same job - even after I told them to stop calling! They called me when I was on my way to my mother's funeral, and the women (Amy?) would not let me get off the phone until I finally agreed to an interview.

She got me  into the office by making me think that I had the job, but she wasn't even there when I arrived. I had to complete two hours of paperwork - including an online application, a paper application, a client application, a background check, etc.  (It was worse than applying for a loan.) I was told that in order to interview for the job, I had to provide a check for direct deposit and sign up for their "benefits" package, but I refused to do this.

After 1.5 hours of paperwork, they made me wait another hour. As I was waiting, the women in the office decided to take their breaks, so they were eating and goofing around while totally ignoring everyone who was waiting. What's even worse, they were saying horrible things about their own temp workers and making fun of some of the applicants.  The man before me failed his drug test, and the recruiter made sure that everyone in the building knew it.

After 2.5 hours of waiting, they would not allow me to use their rest room, but told me I could walk down to Quiznos if I really "had" to go! Then, even though there were 5 people waiting to interview, the manager came out of his office and decided to call a staff meeting! He told us that if we could not wait,  we could call the next day and see if we could reschedule.

As I was getting ready to finally walk out in disgust, I was called for my "interview."  The recruiter was not only rude and nasty,  she asked me illegal questions such as whether or not I owned my own car (she demanded to know the model and year) When I asked why she needed this information, she said that they do not hire people who use public transportation! I was asked whether I smoked and whether or not I had small children at home. OMG! It turned out that the person who called me (Amy) had lied about the pay and the hours.

Then to make things worse, one of their workers came in to tell them his pay check was wrong. The manager started yelling at him.  After he left, the manager told the recruiters to never use him again because he was a "troublemaker" and was "ungrateful."

I would NEVER work for this agency. Not even for $100 an hour. They are unprofessional with horrible attitudes. They are unethical and they are liars. They do not care about their employees at all.  Stay away from Advantage Staffing before they take advantage of you!!!!  Go to a reputable agency such as Rxxxxxd or Hxxx Dxxxxx. (((REDACTED)))

These staffing companies are a mess!  I worked for Command Staffing for about 6 months as a recruiter/customer service, payroll/liens agent.  What a mess!  Sexual, gender, status discrimination is the norm.  I thought Jimma Hoffa lead the way for these practices to stop.  But not since they silenced him and others who stand up for workers' rights and fairness.  I have did a lot of jobs in 35 years but the staffing company takes the cake!  Yes, they do the same thing that happened to you to most others, too.  And they do it to themselves!  Again, what a mess!  If a shapely woman would apply, the manager would drool and make sexual gestures and comments to the rest of us behind the counter.  I would land an account that would pay us $32 per hour and staff it with $13hr employees - good profit, eh.  But the manager would find out about it and lower the employees rates to $11.  So I had to, after they worked a week and was expecting $13, tell them I made a mistake and that the job only  pays $11.  I am an advocate for labor.  I wanted our company to profit but not rape.  I was also in charge of unpaid accounts.  I investigated one that lead to finding that one of our employees set a fake account,  and used our workers for a person house to house move.  I found this out after I kept billing this account only to find that it was all fake.  I called one on the workers who did the job and they said they moved an employee of Command Staffing that day...$1500 paid to workers that can't be collected.  So I confronted the employee and she tried to fight me in the office!  They fired us all eventually and I am glad it happened.  Stay away from staffing companies...they are the epitome of what is wrong with our employment situation today...companies would rather use this service and throw you away than hire.
