Action Appliance Excessive labor charge, excessive part charge, billing credit card without authorization Aurora, Colorado
Requested a service call due to a refrigerator not cooling.
They performed the service call which had a cost of $64.95 and advised that the evaporator motor needed to be replaced at a cost of $314.26. Upon looking at the cost of the part ($40) and the difficulty of the job, I declined their services only to be told that they had already ran the charge on my credit card. They advised I'd need to call the store in the morning (since it was after 8PM) to resolve.
I called the next day at 8:30A and advised again that we did not want them repairing the refrigerator only to be told that there would be a re-stocking charge of 25% of the total cost to repair since they already ordered the part.
I performed the repair myself which took 30 minutes to do.
When looking at my bank statement, they not only charged me for the $314.26 fee on Jun 26th, they charged an additional $228.42 on Jun 28th.
I have filed a BBB report only to discover that they currently have 154 complaints against them.
This business needs to be stopped. Charging basically $275 for a 30 minute job is wrong!!
