Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I bought a Swedish made 1998 (before Ford bought them) Volvo V70 T-5 AWD wagon from the Holland, MI store.

Day 1) I had to put in a new battery or it would quit running.

Day 3). My wife went to get out of the passenger side and the door handle broke! So now I have spent $6,500+$150+$100 for a three day total of $6,750.00 Then during a oil change (1st-one by me) the mechanic called me down into the pit and said, "Watch this" Oil was dripping from between the engine and Transmission, and he felt it was the main seal.

I reported this to my insurance company (Now 23 day's after buying the car) and the dealership. Three weeks later they, the main company, Accurate Engines of Grandville, MI Called me and told me that it would cost me ONLY $400.00 to fix the problem and that the turbo had blown, I had never used it!

Never, and I mean Never buy a car from this company, they advertise a 100,000 mile warrenty: this is from their site:"A few things to consider when you shop with Accurate Automotive Group:

Our 3 year/100,00 mile Warranty

If you don't read this rebuttle to what I said, you will also be made a fool of. Don't just read this report. Go to Yahoo and bring this company up and read their reports on this company as they use four differnt names to hide behind. Then Msn/MSNBC then go two the BBB of Grandville, MI. Man when you get done reading all the reports on this company you'll drive 10000 miles out of your way to get away from this company!

Lanny is just as I expected, a con-artist. For the person who is so happy with thier new motor, I glad for you! Your lucky or a fool, as I wrote the nice rebuttle but one day went by and the road sensor went off again. I had Volvo of Kalamazoo put it back on the lift again and the oil had covered the sensor again and where the mechanic and I had notched the bolts/trans cover, to see if they would really check, were in perfect allignment. They never pulled the motor, just found a likely source for the oil leak and made the dealership pay $1900.00 (They own it, so yeh right) and I paid $400.00 for a turbo that was not needed. I hope like hell they enjoy testifying in court how they pulled a motor and got the bolts back right on the same marks as in the photo's which three Volvo mechanics said would be impossible with new seals (In writing). I retract my former statement on how nice Lanny was and how he went out of his way; as one of his own mechinics has come forward with a written statement on how they do business. The own the Dealers and the dealers run their warrenty's threw the main company so lies fly like bats around that company. if you wish to do business with them, then do it at your own risk. I lost $8800.00 total, how much do you want to lose? You can listen to the one happy customer, or go from here to yahoo, look up Accurate engine group-Grandville, MI and count how many people have made their reports about the company on that site, then on MSN and please check the BBB of Grandville, MI. One Happy person out of 165 dissatisfied customers seems rather one sided, I wish they had the guts to use just one name so I would have gotten a better report on them before I bought from them!

Yes, I did take it to a mechanic (Volvo of Kalamazoo) and had a full diagnostic check done on it. The only advice was to replace the battery, which I did right then. They said that the motor and main components were fine. What went wrong was the Turbo started leaking oil, which flowed down and coved the rain and snow sensor. Lanny of Accurate engines, Grandville, MI did everything in his power to get it repaired at no cost to me. But not being the owner, he could only do so much. Lanny has gained my trust and respect and future business. The one thing that I did learn was IF I had financed the car instead of buying it outright in cash, then it would have come with the warranty that they advertise. With the economy in Michigan being what it is, you have to trust your vehicle to get you to where you need to go. I will retract the former statement to have full disclosure of all repair cost's at all times before you buy. But Lanny proved that there are those that still believe when you make a deal and shake on it, your WORD becomes your bond! Lanny, proved he was a very honest man and had the dealership hold up their end. I will be buying from them again soon.

I also purchased a vehicle from Accurate Automotive Group. I compared many local dealers prices and warranty. In the end I chose Accurate. They offer a free 1 year power train warranty with most of their vehicles. With this warranty I have to cover half of the actual cost of the repairs, but this was far better then what the other dealers were offering me for the same or higher priced cars. It sounds like you had a bad head gasket or seal. This is typically a $1500 repair on American cars, I imagine on a Volvo it could be much more. If they were only going to charge you $400 that sounds like they were asking you to pay 25% or less then what most mechanics would charge. I haven't had any problems with my car yet, but if I do, I would be happy with that type of service.

Always take the car to a mechanic.

Did you take the car to a mechanic before you purchased it? It is your right to take any vehicle to a mechanic before you purchase the vehicle from any licensed dealer. Bad batteries happen especially since we live in Michigan. With the cold that we have been getting it just zaps and kills any battery that is getting old. And to me it just make sense to replace the battery with a good hot battery if you don't know the vehicle very well and you are depending on the vehicle to get you to work on time. Broken door handles happen, you can never know when one of them will break, especially with the sub zero temps we get. If you would have taken the car to your mechanic before you purchased it, your mechanic might have seen the rear main seal leak. Then that way you could have negotiated to get it fixed before you bought the car. Taking the car to a mechanic before you purchase it may cost you anywhere between $50 to $100 to get the vehicle checked so you don't get any surprises shortly after you buy the car. To me it is money well spent to have it checked out.
