I have been waiting to get a bone scan for 10 weeks. After a delay in getting the dye from Europe because of the Iceland volcano, United Health care now is denying coverage for a CPT 78315 - BONE SCAN 3 PHASE STUDY that my Doctor requested.




 I have been in continuous pain for 20 months due to a shattered elbow being replaced by a metal one. The doctor I am now going to now is supposed to be in their network, but is not. MORE money! However, if requested they now will certify a (78305) Nuclear Bone Scan, because they thought I could get by with that because it would cost LESS. 


 We got sucked in to switching from regular Medicare coverage, because they will pay the part D $32 premium.  Pain for money?  Switching back in November.
