I worked for AAA, the club that serviced you. I took road services calls. First let me say what you expereinced is a common issue. The only person that could inform the drive that the member was not there is the dispatcher. The call rep and the tow truck drive have no contact. You don't say wheater you were at home or a business? Was it at night? If you in an obscure spot the driver could have missed you. (i doubt that was the case) The second call should not have counted against your membership even though the Call Rep had to put another call through. The member realtions department should have taken care of that. Yes, they do hire corrupt drives, it's not so much the drives, but the companies that AAA hires. They're hired on contract and they don't get paid very much. About 20 bucks a call. Plus they have their own calls from non members calling for service, which they get paid more for. I agree with that AAA services does suck sometimes. I've waited a long time for services too. But on an average day AAA takes 8,000 calls for their service area, which is all of RI and most of MA. And I will tell you that with all of AAA problems, they are the cheapest out there. Depending on your membership 48 or 75 for basic or plus membership. If you call a tow company on your own they can charge you 75 bucks JUST for coming out there, plus if they tow you then can charge whatever they want. All I can say is that I'm glad I left the company. Underhanded things like what you experienced finally got to me and I hated it there. Any questions about the service I would love to dish more out.
