Ok, I'm updating a few things I saw in other reports. First, I'm not saying AFA lied about any service that I actually used. This information can be found if you happen to land on the right page. Some information, like how one gets an IMBRA form and from whom, does seem to be deliberately buried, though people could differ on that. I searched their website for days but found no information about where and how to get the form.

This is how I feel I got burnt. You can join the website free and search the profiles. Or you can pay a $95 one time fee followed by $29.95 a month and get practically nothing in return.More about that in a second. Once you fill out your profile, which looks like any abbreviated dating site profile, if approved, you can start emailing (thru AFA) anyone you want or you can make the mistake I did, and check  "I want to receive invitations". I got 68 invitations my first 2 or 3 days.

I discarded 52 immediately based on their profiles, and proceeded to eliminate all but about 8 that were really attractive and intelligent "girls". I couldn't tell you who was behind the pretty picture. Every time a girl sends you an invitation email, it costs $5.95 to open it. That only happens once. Every photo she sends you is locked until you pay the $3.50 for each picture you unlock. Letters generally come with 3 or 4 pictures. Every time you receive a letter after the first invite, it costs you $9.99 to open it. And assuming the girl is interesting, you're going to answer her. That's gonna cost you another $9.99.

So, recapping, to share one email with these girls its gonna cost you $30 and change and you keep hoping the pics are gonna get better but really, they don't. The people who paid for a premium membership $95 down and $29.95 every month, pay $7.99 instead of $9.99 get a small reduction on other services, which could help, if you plan on writing a heck of a lot of emails, otherwise it seemed to me to be an unnecessary gouging of the members.

Well, I'm a 35 yo man in a 65 yo man's body and after things began getting tight, and these were beautiful girls, mind you, I began a quest to get them to sign the IMBRA form. AFA already had the same info as the IMBRA, just not the official document. All IMBRA says is that I promise that I'm not a serial killer, lol, or trafficking in prostitution, have never sponsored a fiancé more than twice, was or was not ever married and the dates. The girl reads it and signs it. That's it. Then AFA has fulfilled their obligation to reasonably protect the woman and gives their blessing to exchange email addresses, phone numbers and meet in person and do your own thing, without paying AFA a dime.

Meanwhile, your future bride to be has been pumping you full of stories how their going to fetch the paper and feed you breakfast in bed in America. And the emails keep coming and your money is going down the drink and you will NEVER get these scam artists to sign that form, because they get paid some or all of that $30 you have to pay to talk to them. Sometimes the emails are nothing but a travelogue about how their day went.

im not saying there aren't a few honest ones, I guess there must be or who is getting married? I'm saying don't be an idiot like me and try to juggle several at a time in the hopes of finding Mrs Right. Join free, go right for the IMBRA, have it filled out and ready and don't converse with any girl who won't walk in their office and sign it. There is absolutely no reason for them not to sign it. It obligates them to do NOTHING, they are just acknowledging that they've read your sworn statements about yourself!!
