4myrebate.com is a rebate claim service used by Micro Center computer retailer.   Possibley other retailers also, although I know of none.  I suspect 4myrebate.com may be owned by or directly affiliated to MicroCenter becasue ALL of the products carried by them whereas they offer rebates, despite the manufacturer, are done through 4myrebate.com.  I have purchased many products from MicroCenter, many of them (at least 15 in the past 2 years) have been purchased with rebate offers.  At least 7 of these I NEVER received the rebate.  When I've tried to contact 4myrebate they always have an excuse.  Such as; your submission was invalid, it was not the correct product, we couldnt read the signature(!!!), it was sent to you.  Everytime the excuse was incorrect BS.

I got sick of this... so the last rebate I filed with them, I kept copies of the rebate form, UPC barcode label, and my purchase receipt.  I noted the date I mailed them the forms.  They say that it may take up to 60 days to receive your rebate.  When I did not receive my rebate in 60 days I contacted them and was told "sorry, your rebate was denied because there was no signature on the rebate form.  And you may not resubmit because there is a 30 limitation."  Please note, I held a copy of my rebate form that I sent in my hand, with my signature on it!  The middle eastern indian on the other end of the line could do nothing but keep repeating "I understand sir."  It was so ridiculous!!!  I asked to speak with a supervisor, but was told there was none available.

This company is a SCAM.  If you buy a product and must claim you rebate through this company, chances are very good you will not receive it.  I highly recommend that you do not purchase products that offer a rebate that must be claimed through 4myrebate.com.  After all, it is in their best interest NOT to fulfill your rebate claim.

After submitting this ripoff report I will be contacting MicroCenter.

Right after submitting this ripoff report I sent an email to MicroCenter explaining the situation.  15 minutes later I received a phone call from them!  The representative, was straight and to the point, very apologetic and told me they would immediately and directly credit my original transaction the $20 that the rebate was for to the original credit card that was used.  Amazing.  The sad thing is that this implies they are VERY aware of the problems with 4myrebate.  And I suspect they rely on many of their customers not following up on their rebates.  (Disclaimer:  this is only my speculation)

I would also like to add, that other than their shady rebate program, MicroCenter is a great store with a great inventory and customer service.  They also have better prices than many of their online competitors 90% of the time. (of course you always need to compare prices at the time).  My recomendation to the CEO of MicroCenter is to drop the rebate program ENTIRELY and IMMEDIATELY.  Rebates annoy and alienate customers.  Noone likes them, everyone considers them a pain in the rear, and trust of them is an issue.  Rebates drive customers elsewhere.
