Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I received a phone call today by 24 Hours Fitness regarding my payment which didn't go through. Thanks God my credit card was over balance and they called. I replied that my membership with them was cancelled, that  this is a mistake, they should not be able to get money out of my account, they are not authorised. They told me they will cancel (re-cancel) and when I asked if I've been charged this monthly fee for the last 13 months they lied to me and said no. However I checked with my bank and they had indeed charged me more than $600 without getting my authorisation or giving any type of notification. I would have never realised that 24 Hours Fitness is charging me $50 every month for the last 13 months!

Calling the customer service who tranfered my call to the gym's manager and talking to everyone from gym trainers to customer service supervisors, waiting for hours on the phone and being denied refund, I soon realised how aware everyone was about this trap. It's a complete scam. It's a shame. They laughed at me,they adviced ironically to manage my finances better and that there is no way I get my money back. I never got written proof that my subscription was cancelled for the simple reason that they did not email me one after I called to cancel. Even now that I have supposevely cancelled my membership "officially" they haven't sent anything. Going through this experience my instict told me from the very first moment I talked to them that I am not talking to a legitimate business and that I was a victim of their unethical tactic of making money.

I've been going to gyms for all of my life. I know how subscriptions work. I am aware. But in my case I had canceled my account on 29 November 2013  . However just in the sace of argue let's say that indeed my canceletion never registered in their system. Is this the clients fault? Why is the client getting charged? And even so, records show that a client has not been an active member for more then a year, why don't you follow up? Why don't you send receipts? Why charging someone who does not receive services from you? Why not taking responsibility? Why playing ignorened for a year and only call when you can't retrieve money?

I've been the victim of a terrible scam and it's not the money that I've lost that hurt me so much. it's the brutal way some businesses violate sociaty's harmony and the lack of humanity which make me not trust anyone. I never experienced that in L.A. I was proud to see local businesses acting proffesionaly. However I now that 24 Hour Fitness might use this way of making money now but in the near future the loss is going to be much much bigger!

Please comment or share your story regarding the issue with 24 Hours Fitness cancelations. It's important to react! I am willing to sign this text and bring this case to justice.

Well I am not that shocked that you are only 19, and after all we all know that at 19 you know EVERYTHING right?

The fact is that you are a legal adult and as such YOU need to start taking repsonsibility for YOUR actions.  So yes, you can try to blame everyone else for this but in the end this is YOUR fault.   Keep in mind that I even said that if you had caught it the first month you would have had a valid complaint it is only because of YOUR lack of responsibility that you are in the situation you are in now.  Oh and believe it or not I would tell my kids the exact same thing.

The truth is you have no control of that and there is nothing wrong with trusting your bank for letting you know when there is a suspicious ttranscaction in your account.

- Oh really?  What if someone used your card and purchased a $50 gift card at your local Big Box Electronics Store?  Or let's go something even more basic, what if someone else spent $10 at your college bookstore.  How does the bank know that it is a suspicious transaction?

That's a personal decision that you should respect.

- Okay I will respect that if you act like a real adult and when someone uses your card and you don't catch it that you take responsibility and admit that it was your fault because of this "personal decision" you have made.

My parents hold my accounts and get the statements. My mother assumed that I was going to the gym and didn't ask me. Do you wanna set her on fire?

- Seriously?  You are an ADULT why is your mommy getting your statements?  Are you not even trustworthy enough to pay your own bills?    Of course I wouldn't set your mom on fire..it isn't her account..it is yours(and no I am not going to set you on fire either).  I would actually suggest that you tell your mom you want to act more like an adult and have them send the statements to you.  I would even let them know that you want to take on more responsibility and pay your bills.  Now, if they want to transfer money to your local account so you can pay them..okay nothing wrong with parents helping out...but YOU should be the one responsible for managing your account.

Now since you are 19 and obviously know everything, I don't expect you to listen to anything I have said.  But when a bigger "mistake" happens in the future(and with this attitude it will) I hope you remember these comments and perhaps actually open your mind up and learn something.

Aslo Robert my credit card limit is $300! which is easily reached! But you should have thought that every case in this society can be different rather than me having to explain myself to your rediculous accusations! I'm not your kid and If you have kids or you ever will have I hope you become a bit more supportive!

It is a scary thought that with reports like these how some people are actually able to function in normal society.

I would have never realised that 24 Hours Fitness is charging me $50 every month for the last 13 months!

- Well except for the $50 charge on your statement EVERY MONTH for THIRTEEN MONTHS that didn't match your check register or looking at your statement causing you to investigate where it came from.

Or are you such an important person that you can't be bothered with doing something as simple as maintain your check register or look over your credit card statements.  Oh wait you must be because your credit card was OVER THE LIMIT.

It is actually very funny how you think that having a credit card that is over the credit limit is a good thing.

Why don't you send receipts?

-Umm you don't read your statements so why would anyone expect that you would look at a receipt?

I've been the victim of a terrible scam

- The only thing you are a victim of is your own ignorance and unwillingness to take responsibility.  You see if you were responsible you would have caught this the first month it happened and had a very legitimate complaint to have the charge reversed.  But 13 months later..that is 100% on you.

Who are you? Are you an employee of the Club?

If the answer is yes, don't try to rationalise it! You are missing the point anyway! Businesses should care for their clients to begin with and not rip them off! You cannot deny that they processed anauthorised payments and that they don't care of wether their clients are satisfied with their services. So how exactly are you approaching this?

If you have no relation to 24 fitness I feel sorry for you! You are blaiming me and attacking me for not reading my statements the moment that 24 Fitness actions are illegal! What part of I cancelled my membership did you not understand?

if you wanna go comment on others and judge them for the way they do things you are welcome. The truth is you have no control of that and there is nothing wrong with trusting your bank for letting you know when there is a suspicious ttranscaction in your account. That's a personal decision that you should respect.  I am 19 years old and an international student here in US. My parents hold my accounts and get the statements. My mother assumed that I was going to the gym and didn't ask me. Do you wanna set her on fire? We can hang her in the middle of the square if thats what you want. However I don't have to apologise to anyone about why I did not realised it earlier because this is not relevant! This site is for the consumer to discuss the quality of services businesses like 24 fitness provide. Not get all philosophical about how you imagine your ideal world.

You can punish yourself for not being a good victim as much as you want. I'M GETTING A REFUND!!!
