I, too, was ripped off by 1800flowers. Like you, I ordered birthday flowers several days in advance for my mother. I even gave them complete directions from major highways. I included both my mother's and my phone #'s in case of problems. When she did not receive the flowers, I called"800" and was told there was a delay because the florist wanted additional payment because of the distance. When another day passed and she still did not get the flowers, I called again. To make a long story short, they contracted with a florist 3.5 hours away from where my mother lived. I explained this to them, but all they could say is "this is the florist we have to use". Sounds like they have an extremely limited number of florists which accept their contracts. I now use flowers.com - they send via FedEx.
