Complaint Review: Woodstock Closets & Millwork LLC -

On December 20, 2019 I met with Brian Tate, of Woodstock Closets & Millwork llc, to contract a custom build in my craft room.  The cabinets were to be installed the middle of February 2020.  Since that time (3 months ago) and the time leading up to the install, there was nothing but constant excuses as why he wasn't getting me the design layout, or why he wasn't incorporating what we previously discussed, or when he was going to actually install the product.  

New software learning curve, sick employees, fell asleep on the couch etc etc.  The excuses kept coming.  I had to redraw the layout myself multiple times and he still couldn't seem to get it right.  Finally the beginning of February, we got it right, and had an install date scheduled.  I texted him prior to packing up the room that weekend and got no response.  Since that time he used COVID as an excuse telling me that they were not working.  I did find a couple other people who also purchased cabinets from him and one was promised January 2020.  

He was told us the business was still open but behind and he was the next person on the install list.  I was told the business was closed and when they opened, I was the next person on the install list.  Most of our conversations were by text but when it came to the important details, he would also call.  I assume so that I couldn't have a record of what he said.  Finaly 3 weeks ago I told him I would no longer speak to him by phone so that I had written record of our conversations.  That ended with him promising to check with his installers and get back to me later that day with an install date.  I have never heard from him again and my texts are ignored.  He got me for $2908 depost and dozens of hours of wasted time.

Brian Tate of Woodstock GA is his name.  The Company is owned by his Girlfriend, Sheena Hobbs, on paper only.  Sheena apparently works in a bank somewhere locally.   I have never spoken with her or had any dealings with her.  Apparently the company is run by Brian and Sheena is just on their for the Female owned business tax breaks.  

I have reposted his original ad on Facebook Market, where I originally found him asking others who have had dealings with him to contact me.  I have heard from multiple people who have similar stories.  Others have told me that he is currently in contact with them attempting to get deposits for jobs.  Now why would anyone be out there soliciting business and taking deposits when they are 4 months behind (based on one other person's promised delivery date)?  

In chatting with others I have located through FB Market, who have dealt with Brian Tate, we all have similar stories of broken promises and excuses and no product.  Local authorities have been notified and a theft by deception report has been recorded in my county.  The next step is a civil filing which has been slowed due to court house closings however they open on 5/4/2020, which is only 3 days away.  That is my next step however this post is to warn anyone who is thinking of working with this guy to NOT GIVE ANY MONEY to him in advance.  I cannot speak as to the quality of his product or if he ever delivers anything because I have not been able to locate anyone who recieved their cabinets from this company.
