WHIRLPOOL EXECUTIVE OFFICE JENN-AIR 1. Purchased a Jenaire JJW3430LL on 12/08/2023. Oven was installed on 12/14/2023; oven started reporting a power failure on 12/17/2023. The oven had never been used. 2. Service technician was called and assess the oven on 12/21/2023. at which time he deemed the control panel on the oven had failed. 3. After a heated discussion with the executive office, whirlpool agreed to replace the oven. As a customer, I was upset that a brand new oven failed and I had no oven to prepare Christmas dinner. 4. On December 24 my GE cooktop failed model number is JIC4430XS00. The service technician on December 28, 2023 deemed my cooktop could not be repaired. 5. Numerous email exchanges where I was offered different financial compensation, that I never received for the inconvenience at Christmas of having no working appliances to prepare meals has never been received. 6. The offer to send a countertop oven was overlooked until January 16 but is not received. 7. The order for the replacement cooktop was not placed until January 18 and the ETA is 3 to 4 weeks. This ordeal began a month ago and my family has been forced to eat out every meal which means we have limited meals to twice a day but this is getting very expensive and the expectation that we have to go another four weeks or longer without the ability to prepare meals is unacceptable. I have asked multiple times for my case to be escalated as the expectation that my household go without the ability to prepare meals is unacceptable. Due to current weather conditions across the country, there is no firm timeline on when the appliances will be delivered and installed. Whirlpool has never delivered on any of the offers sent by  email string and I feel I should be compensated because it is very expensive to eat out daily twice a day. Electricans have checked the wiring and paperwork has been provided to WhirlPool and the Service Technicans sent by WhirlPool Executive Center

When the appliances cost well over 8K why should I have to purchase a hot place, feel Whirlpol should compensate me for my family eating out every night since before Christmas.  I have neighbors who bring us food because we don't have appliances, how is any of this acceptable or ethical?

I had one simple request since none of the montary offers that provided via email or on the phone have been honored Escalate my call and was told NO . I be good with a refund to that I go purchase another brand that is more relieable but that has not been offerred.

Good afternoon, Ms. Hubbard . 

 

Your email to Laurie Walter has been received and forwarded it to the executive office for response.

We understand the inconvenience associated with appliances that are not functioning. And as expressed on multiple occasions, we do not intend to minimize your experience. However, we are currently assisting to expedite this process as much as possible.

In our conversation on Thursday last week, I explained that as a courtesy we are covering the costs associated with modification to your counter/cabinet in order to accommodate the new oven and cooktop. The manufacturer's warranty does not provide for reimbursement for the cost of eating out, or any of these modifications. Yet we have already processed a goodwill reimbursement of $150, and we have already shipped a countertop oven at no charge and it was delivered on January 21, 2024

I am respectfully declining your request for any further reimbursement or compensation, and I assure you that we will work diligently to get these exchanges completed.

I have already reviewed the details of your file with my colleagues, and will continue to be your point of contact for full resolution.

 You can get a hot plate and a toaster oven for well under $50 total. That would easily allow you to cook food until the replacement appliances show up. Also, have an electrician check your wiring and power quality. Maybe you need a whole house surge protector. Two electronic failures in a week is not a coincidence.
