Whenever I complained about bad loads, I was always faced the same set of excuses such as the market is down, there are no good paying loads, etc.

2 weeks ago, the dispatcher, contacted my driver to send him the rate conformation; he accidentally sent the driver the original rate confirmation and not the one doctored by VL Trucking. Upon finding out the payout on the load the driver’s response was “Holly Molly, this is a good paying load.” The load was going from Pueblo Colorado to Hillsboro Oregon and was paying $6000 by Coyote Logistics.

VL Trucking doctored the rate-con and sent us one for $4400. On the said day the dispatcher who holds the title of fleet manager f*cked up and sent my driver the original copy. Sooner he realized his mistake he tried to cover up his tracks by convincing my driver that the broker Coyote Logistics messed up and sent us their copies and the $6000 payout was what Coyote was receiving from the customer and not what they were paying out to VL Trucking.

I contacted Cayote logistics, and they confirmed that VL Trucking had booked the load for $6000. VL Trucking stole $1600 from one load alone, while charging me 20% on the remaining $4400. Load #23941414, states on the contract between VL Trucking and Coyote logistics, “THIS LOAD SHALL NOT BE DOUBLE BROKERED NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES NOT LISTED ABOVE SHALL BE ADDED”. (look up both real rate confirmation and the phoney one the dispatcher sent me)

I went through every load for that week and confirmed load confirmations that VL Trucking sent me with the individual brokers.

Here’s what I found

(1)   Load number 23941414 Coyote logistics, going from Pueblo Colorado to Hillsboro Oregon paid $6000, Vl Trucking changed the rate confirmation to $4400 than took 20 % fee from the $4400

(2)   Load number 6670843 Landstar paid $1700, VL Trucking changed the rate confirmation to $1300 and took 20 % of the $1300.

(3)   Load number 11611793 GT World  Wide Logistics paid $3300 VL trucking paid me $3000 for the load and took 20% from the $3000

It’s no big secret the VL Trucking runs fraudulent logs and run ghost drivers on all their trucks. As a company driver the only way to keep your job, is to run illegally. They have a 24-hour hotline you call to give you more hours by assigning your hours to a ghost driver that you supposedly just dropped off. This is probably the reason why one of their drivers killed 3 people an accident which happened in January of 2020. (Google VL trucking accidents) That may also be the reason for them having one of the worst safety scores in the country and their drivers constantly get pulled into scale houses to be inspected.

As an owner operator with VL Trucking I had days where I was running 900 miles a day just to make ends meet. I being naïve believed their lies (oh the market is down etc) until I found out that there just blatantly stealing.

Appeal to owner operators

RED FLAGS

1-      On average VL Trucking is booking $3.00 a mile minimum.  If your average is less than $3 a mile that’s the first red flag.

2-      The email rate-con sent by the dispatcher isn’t forwarded as a continuation from the brokers email so you as an owner operator can’t see the brokers’ email, instead it comes from VL Trucking.

3-       No matter how many miles you drive your weekly statement gross is always in the same range.

If you think VL Trucking is not stealing from you, Your Wrong, immediately contact the 2 owners of VL Trucking Alex and Vlad and demand you see the factoring paperwork(immediately) if for any reason under the sun they don’t show you the factoring paperwork there stealing from you, by changing your rate confirmations.

Everyone in the office knows exactly what’s going on either directly or indirectly. Your dispatcher is not your friend. He/she is serving as an accessory to fraud.

 HOW TO GET EVEN

1-      Collect evidence

2-      Record your conversations with safety department and dispatchers

3-      Catch them in the act.

4-      Look at your weekly statements

5-      Tell them to either give you the money that they stole from you or your uploading the evidence on Facebook group VICTIMS OF VL TRUCKING

6-      Contact FMCSA

7-      Contact the State attorney’s Office Illinois

8-      Contact the Department of Labor for both Iowa and Illinois (their MC is based out of Iowa shady reasons)

9-      WRITE YOUR OWN RIPOFF REPORT SO THAT THIS DOESN’T HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE

10-  Start filing complaints with brokers about VL TRUCKING ask them to put up freight guards on VL
