Tracfone was to send me a replacement phone as mine was not functioning properly.  After a month, I called them to ask about my phone.  They said it was mistakenly sent to Florida (their HQ city).  The customer service rep said there was nothing they could do and that I should talk to the shipping department.

The shipping rep hung-up on me in mid-sentence.  I called back and the customer service rep again connected me with their shipping operations.  I was told another phone would be sent to me.  This phone, too, was for some reason sent to a Florida address.  Further, my phone was de-activated as they said when they ship a phone they must de-activate the phone being replaced.

Now I have no phone at all and have lost my contacts.  Moreover, I can't seek a job because I have no phone.  When I oredred a new phone from another company, they told me that because tracfone had de-activated my number, I would have to get an entirely new number, which means I must re-purchase cards, stationary and all things using the old number.

Repeated attempts to contact Tracfone management have failed and they refuse to return my emails.  I have contacted their world HQ in Mexico in the hope that I might get some assistance from them.  I have also filed a complaint with the Federal communications Commission in the hope that Tracfone will think twice before doing this to someone else.

After contacting the Federal Communications Commission and Tracfone's CEO (4th richest man on the planet) at its World HQ in Mexico, Tracfone was eager to resolve all issues, including commiting itself to being a more customer-friedly organization.

One can only hope they keep to their word.  In any event, it is amazing what one has to go through with some larger organizations to be treated in a dignified manner.  The shame and irony of it all is that this whole scenario revolved around a $25 cell phone.
