Simply Stated CA Internet Recruiting Scam Toronto Ontario
This report is for an individual going by the name of Anna. I have provided our WhatsApp text messages for proof of the interaction.
I'm not 100% positive she represents the company, she may be a part of a larger scam using others websites to phish for information.
I was first contacted by a virtual assistant through SMS message asking if I would be interested in a remote job, which seemed okay until she asked for my name and email, and also suggested we move the conversation to WhatsApp.
I opted not to give my name and see where the scam would continue.
The next day, one of her "recruiters" Anna messaged me in WhatsApp out of the blue, asking for more personal information and trying to woo me with salary conversations.
It's 2pm on a Friday, I'm at work, I fail to respond quickly... sensing the scam was about to unravel, I asked for references about the company and she responded...
"So why don't ask if you need this information rather than keeping mute, don't be a coward, you are a man, learn to be bold"
Clearly she is not a recruiter and this company is either fake or being scammed also. So here I am doing my civil duty by reporting them!
