Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Royal Palm Events canceled our wedding one week before our wedding date and is refusing to give us our money back! They are refusing to refund us ALL of our money in a time when my fiancé and I are already in financial distress due to loss of income. They breached their own contract by canceling our wedding one week before our wedding date and now won’t even do the right thing by refunding us our money. It's very sad that Royal Palm Events would take advantage of their clients during a crisis.

Not to mention the wedding planning process was a complete nightmare. They constantly tried to charge us for exuberant fees that weren’t listed in the contract.

I advise everyone to avoid planning a wedding with them due to their unethical and shady business practices! STAY AWAY!

Completely False Assessment, Attempting Extortion of Us

#2UPDATE Employee ..inside information

Tue, March 31, 2020

Statements made above here are unequivocally false. We have been closed by the state temporarily due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Mr. Martin chose to not reschedule his date as quoted in his own email to us:

“Kelly and I have decided to get married at home on March 28th, 2020 with just our immediate family. We made this decision due to the uncertainty of when Royal Palm Events would be able to host our wedding again"

His signed contract clearly states all deposits are non-refundable. However, as we are doing with ALL of our other clients so far we will extend any payments made toward a future date/event of equal or greater value.  This is actually a courtesy and not legal agreement on our part.  We are honoring our agreement, while Mr. Martin is not.  His intention seems to be to extort money from us with threats and intentional smear. His full value is still in place. We too are experiencing hardship, and have placed deposits with many of our vendors who provide various services with us, and we do not ask them for a return of any deposit.  We understand that they held dates and services with us.  Frankly with a staff that is now out of work, and our collective hearts break accordingly. Your assessment of our local business is cruel & lacks any degree of empathy.  You are attempting to hurt our kind working staff of full-timers, part-timers, single parents, students and more.  It's far more indicative and damning of your character individually.

Wedding day insurance is readily available for emergencies and often purchased by clients especially as we operate in a high hurricane-prone region.  As to your assessment we "constantly tried to charge us for exuberant fees that weren’t listed in the contract" that is patently ridiculous.  Everything you wanted is clearly listed on our agreements.  We are always happy to add services a client may want later.

If you choose to celebrate at a later date, we'd still love to host you.  Thank you.

When was your wedding scheduled for?

If you say it was during the current Pandemic, then claiming a breach of contract is a bit misleading.

You did make one other interesting statement. That they refused to refund ALL of your money. So how much money have you paid them, and how much are they refunding. Did they provide a reason why you were not getting back all of the money? Did you ASK?
