On Jan. 30,2020 I had an apt at 1pm. The owner contacted me and pushed my apt back to 1:30pm. I arrived early. When I arrived the owner introduced me to the groomer Stephanie who would be grooming my dog. I asked her if she had groomed cobberdogs. She said no, I thanked her for her honesty. I showed her pages I had printed out from the internet on grooming cobberdogs. She did not even take a look at it. I said I was unhappy with a previous groomer who trimmed around Charlie's eye area and left white rings. She said "that's how we trim labradoodles." My dog is an Austrailian Cobberdog. The breeder I got her from is https://www.highlandsaustralianlabradoodles.com/

The Australian Cobberdog is not an Australian Labradoodle with a new name.

Thankfully,  we have a global registry and organization, the Master Dog Breeders Association or MDBA that is dedicated to protecting the integrity of the breed as a Pure Breed in Development.  One of their missions is to ensure that the lineage and gene pool is properly researched and proven before any litter, breeding dog or pet can be recorded in its official registry.  Our goal has always been to stay true to the Breed Founder’s vision for the Breed by using authentic lines from the Founders themselves developed over decades with the reputation of producing those characteristics that are the hallmark of the breed. The culmination of these practices is the development of the Australian Cobberdog, a pure dog breed in development.

The breeder is an excellent breeder and very caring about their dogs. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the groomer "Praise the Paw".

They (Stephanie and Jennifer) went over to my dog and said "your dog has matts all over, so we would have to completely shave her." I said "I drive for Uber and Charlie is approved to ride with me. I cannot have my dog shaved. I do not want her to look like a drowned rat!" I also said" I use a detangler and any knots or matts come right out." Jennifer said "we reserved three hours for you and if you do not let us completely shave your dog, NEVER come back." How is that okay to treat a customer that way?

Since I have spoke with a woman who has horses. Because horses are left outdoors their tails get severely matted. She told me 'if you use enough conditioner, the mats come right out." When i told Jennifer that, she replied "Ok Pamela. Whatever you say!" No apology for the iimpudence, No attempt to try to make it right!
