I placed an order online and got a confirmation of my order. The order was supposed to be shipped from California to Georgia. Once the funds had cleared I received a tracking number and a link to the shipping company. Right away I started to realize that I had made an expensive mistake. The name of the shipping company was obviously fake. Trans Continental Shippings. If you spend time clicking on the various links and buttons on their website you find that some of them do not go anywhere and others will take you to a page that has text place holders. In other words, the words are not words but strings of random letters.

Before 24 hours had passed since placing the order I received a notification that the order was being held at the Dallas Fort Worth airport and would not be sent on until I paid $2,100.00 and filled out a customs form. There are no customs forms for packages being sent from state to state. Custom forms are for international shipments. The notice I received made reference to specific laws to underline how important that it was that I send the $2,100.00. The laws that were referenced either were about criminal punishments for shipping illegal substances or had nothing whatsoever to do with customs.

I contacted the person who calls himself Ben Bricks (obviously not his real name) and he became very aggressive telling me that if I did not send the additional money that I would have law enforcement on my doorstep to arrest me. I tried to explain to him that this would not be the case because up to this point the only one who had broken the law was him for sending supposedly illegal substances and that until I actually had the substances in my possession I had not done anything that I could be arrested for. I also tried to explain that as the customer I ordered from him in good faith and that it is the responsibility of the merchant to make sure the product was received by the customer. I told him I wanted a refund and he hung up on me. I should also mention that there is a 100% money-back guarantee.

After Ben (not his real name) hung up on me I called the number on the shipper's website to confirm that the package was being held at DFW airport. The person who answered the phone told me to text the tracking number to the phone number I just called. I asked him if the Trans Continental Shippings company had a cell phone as its main business number. And he said yes and that he could not talk right then because he was on break. This seemed odd since he was answering the main phone number on the company website and it is a cell phone. Does the cell phone go on break when its owner goes on break?

The whole thing was one big ripoff. I plan to post about this scam company everywhere.
