I joined Homes for Heroes, HFH because of a friend's recommendation. Homes for Heroes made it seem as if though it offers a great program for people trying to buy a home. I got into real estate to help people and this seemed like something great to add on to it. Unfortunatly, that was not the case. As we are in the middle of a pandemic and i am currently on a fixed income that allows me to barely get by i attempted to sever ties only to find out that I would not be able to.

They state they offer clients a discount on comission through their work. I the real estate agent would be paired with "Heroes" and a financial officer to help them with what they need. A few months in and i was either not contacted back by clients or the people who signed up were just searching for info and not really looking to purchase. I spoke with others on HFH and they also were saying the numbers for people accepted were not high. The discount they receive by working through HFH is something any Real Estate Agent can offer on their own with out the company. This means you are stuck paying $149.00 until you can get out of the contract. Which sadly they don't even try to compromise with you.

Homes for Heroes will argue anything to justify their method and how they run their program but there are cheaper ways to do this. since i could'nt find any reviews on the program itself i have to go on their word on how great the company is. In reality they just send leads your way which can be found on your own for less or no cost.

As for the financial advisor they provide most people can just use their own financial advisors which is common in New York City. Now i am not saying this may not work some where else but it doesn't work in New York City. They will use their records and counter this with anything they can to keep you in the program. Even if you are just starting out and barely making any money. I even attempted to go on a lower tier program but they wouldnt let me do that. I wish i could get out of this contract but now i am stuck with them until they let me go.

I do hope that this report comes as a warning to anyone wanting to work with Homes for Heroes. As an independant contractor you set your comission rates and what they offer an agent could easily offer themselves with out their platform. I would warn people and say save your money and use it towards something that is worth your time and your clients' times because this will create zedro return on investment. All i see from this company is the fact that I am paying their salary as they sit in their offices to justify their program. All while there are better goverment programs out there in my city and through banks.

If it seems i am all over the place please understand that I am livid about the situation and am trying to explain myself in a calm manner so that others aren't dragged into this company.

When you got involved with these people there was some sort of contractual agreement signed. What did that agreement say in regards to cancellation?
