I joined Homes for Heroes, HFH, to get a leg up on the competive NYC real estate market. In theory it is a great program. However, in actuality for the NYC market it is NOT. I stress the NYC real estate market is a different beast. I am sure it does well elsewhere. I have been paying $145 monthly( for months) to get potential buyers or sellers. What I have been receiving are curiosity seekers, lookie loos and the complete unresponsive.
I have tried to get out of this contract as I have 0% ROI. I contacted corporate in hopes of some compassion...to No avail. I don't get paid as an agent until I sell a property. I have no income and $145/mo is a big deal when you are trying to feed your family and again, 0% Return On Investement. I have contacted another agent affiliate in NYC; the same rings true for him. I believe I am being held in financial captivity because my monthly contribution goes towards the salaries of the board of directors. Really! Doing great things for "heroes" is awesome.
I believe I fall in that "heroes" category as I was going to donate part of my commission (if I got 1) back to the buyer or seller. I am struggling financially and this $145/mo is causing me much duress. Where is the compassion for this Hero. I gave it my all ...to no avail. Therefore, I would NOT reccommend HFH as a realtor affiliate.
