Upon checking into a Holiday Inn Express on 5/10/19, I was required to place a $20 room deposit on my credit card. I left the room as a respectful guest should, with no waste or mess. When the deposit refund was not credited back to my account I called back on 5/12/19. I was advised that it takes up to 5 business days for the refund to occur. On 6/29/19, after reviewing my credit card account the amount was still outstanding.
I called to inquire. The receptionist, Athena, said she had no record of the $20 amount that was charged to my account. I asked how we should remediate the matter and was advised to call my bank and that (without asking) even the manager would not be able to help me.
I amicably acknowledged her response and asked her to let her manager know that I will not be staying at any Holiday Inn of Holiday Inn Express again and that I would be giving Holiday some “free advertising” regarding the matter.
She cheerfully said ‘okay’. (This comment represents the “free advertising” mentioned.)
