Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Purchased a new vehicle from this dealer in April, 2019.  As I had done previously with other dealers through the years I intended to trade a vehicle in and sell/trade-in another.  Previous experiences had always been positive in that regard in that a decent Blue Book trade-in was allowed as well as very acceptable purchase price on second vehicle with any difference between what was still owed and amount dealer offered simply added to new car price.

I had previous private offers on both trade-in vehicles but figured a dealer handling all the paperwrok would be more expidicious.  Had I taken the private offers I would have walked into Gettel and financed approximately $30,000 on the new vehicle.  They ignored both Blue Book and Carfax values based on my specific VIN numbers and gave me basically nothing for either vehicle.

However, since the new car payment would be less than combination of the two trade-ins and given the fact I spend 5-6 hours at the dealership, I signed the papers and left.  During the 5-6 hours on site during this nightmare, no one, the salesman, sales manager, nor finance manager...no one sat down and explained the specific numbers of any kind concering this transaction.  Today dealers apparently no longer give you contract copies.  Instead they give you flash drives for you to maneuver through if you wish to browse the contract.

Gettel was offering a $25 gift card with any test drive as well as much as $5,000 above Blue Book values on any trade-in.  They honored neither of these.  After pulling up the contract daqys later there is no specific allowance for either trade-in.  They simply allowed zero and added all onto new car purchase price.  When I requested an explanation in writing of specific trade-in details on both vehicles, they refused to divulge.

They further refused via BBB complaint.  Additionally...extended warranty was cancelled approximately three months ago via personal visit to dealer.  What normally takes 4-6 weeks has still not been effected probably due to BBB complaint.  Buyer beware of sales tactics and deception of this dealership.

Bottom line...all I asked for several times was for a written explanation as to trade-in allowances in which they refused each time

- So why did you continue with the sale with these unanswered questions?

When you can answer that you will see why that Sucker sign above your head is still shining brightly.

By the way contrary to what you want to believe...the people posting here have nothing to do with this dealership.

You seriously cannot be so stupid as to think people who disagree with you must work for the dealership?  But, maybe you are that stupid.  After all, you got ripped off over things that you simply decided weren't all that important to you until after the whole deal was done.  If you wanted specific information, and you didn't get it, then you needed to leave.

I mean how stupid must you be to want to do business with people who didn't give a d**n about you?  On top of it, you think you owe them business because...why....you've done business with them before?  What sort of loyalty do you owe a business?  Idiot.

They further refused via BBB complaint.  Do you honestly expect the BBB would do anything?  They can't force anyone to do anything.  They aren't the FBI, or a court, and they have no legal authority to do squat.  So you left a complaint in the hope the BBB will do something.  You posted your complaint to the BBB, a community based membership organization.  They make money off of dues and they possess no ability to do anything when a consumer complains about anything.  If the business happens to be a member of the BBB, your complaint will not reduce their grade at all.  I've seen businesses who are members of the BBB with more than 600 complaints in 36 months and the business has a grade of A-.

You posted this so the public would be warned.  As a member of said public, I've determined you have no credibility.  If the dealership REALLY cared about you as a customer, they wouldn't leave comments or responses here.  They would try to actually help you.  Understand??

Now, it's time for you to go away....

See how easy that was?  You spent more time with this transaction than any employee of the dealership did.  And..as a return customer I had previously purchased 5 other vehicles through this dealership over the years.  None as chaotic and unprofessional as this due to perhaps a newer management.

Bottom line...all I asked for several times was for a written explanation as to trade-in allowances in which they refused each time!  So...integrity and honesty?  I think not.  By virtue of the product they sell all car dealerships are dishonest.  Some such as this one strive a little harder to surpass that.

When you stroll by the sales manager's cubicle today...give him my best regards.

Nothing Deceptive About It

Automobile dealers are under no obligation to observe Kelley Blue Book or any other opinions as to the market value of vehicles. Consumers have the right to accept or decline trade-in offers. Your signature on the contract indicates you agreed to the terms.

You failed to read the financial agreement prior to signing it. You admit to reading the agreement after the sale. You are suffering from a case of seller’s remorse.

It’s unclear why you purchased an extended warranty for a new car.

Happy motoring.

Buyer's Remorse is not deception

Nothing you posted here shows they were deceptive, and it really is just a case of Buyer's Remorse...

I intended to trade a vehicle in and sell/trade-in another. Previous experiences had always been positive in that regard in that a decent Blue Book trade-in was allowed as well as very acceptable purchase price on second vehicle with any difference between what was still owed and amount dealer offered simply added to new car price.

So you think it was a great idea to add the Negative Equity to a new loan? Yea, you see that sign above your head that says "Sucker"...

They ignored both Blue Book and Carfax values based on my specific VIN numbers and gave me basically nothing for either vehicle.

- Incorrect...you took basically nothing for those vehicles. As you see if they didn't offer you what you wanted, you should have WALKED OUT and not completed the sale.

However, since the new car payment would be less than combination of the two trade-ins and given the fact I spend 5-6 hours at the dealership, I signed the papers and left.

- You accepted the offer, there is no deception only a case of Buyer's remorse.

During the 5-6 hours on site during this nightmare, no one, the salesman, sales manager, nor finance manager...no one sat down and explained the specific numbers of any kind concering this transaction.

- Incorrect..During the 5-6 hours you failed to force them to explain it to you. If you wanted an explanation, you should not have signed until they provided you with one.

Gettel was offering a $25 gift card with any test drive as well as much as $5,000 above Blue Book values on any trade-in. They honored neither of these.

- So why didn't you require them to give you the $25 before you signed? As for the $5,000..even in your words you state it was "as much as".

When I requested an explanation in writing of specific trade-in details on both vehicles, they refused to divulge.

- What details do you want? Why they only gave you a certain amount? If that is what you are waiting for..you will never get it. They offered you a certain amount, you accepted. The time to ask for the details is BEFORE You sign on the dotted line.
