After selling a beautiful Japanes VG10 steel knife on *eBay for $185, I was surprised to see that *eBay had stolen over 14% of the selling price.  When I contacted eBay to find out what was going on, they sent me some links to close my account so I did so.  eBay then told me they couldn't close my account so I had to quickly end all of my auctions before the blood suckers could steel more of my money.  I can't for the life of me figure out why *eBay charged me 14% of my total selling price when they only charge 13% for their promote listing option.  I thought about using the promote my item feature on *eBay but I thought 13% of the selling price to promote my item was absolutely ridiculous.  Instead of allowing *eBay to promote my listing, I decided to promote my item myself by reducing the selling price.  My Japanese knife sold almost immeidiately and instead of charging me the ridiculous 13% fee, *eBay decided they would steal from me and charge me over 14% of the selling price for their selling fee even though they had not promoted my item per the promote item feature.

If your anything like me your wondering, how can *eBay get away with this?  Well it is simple.  They don't disclose the percent they will charge you.  This allows *eBay to steal as much of your money as they would like.  According to *eBay.com, "The amount we charge depends on the item's price, the format and category you choose for your listing, any optional listing upgrades you add, and your seller conduct and performance".  What that means in plain old english is that if *eBay wants to steal from you they can simply do so based on any false perceptions they may have relating to one's conduct.  Pretty Scary.    eBay has stated they won't be able to close my account until I contact them.  Attempting to contact *eBay is similar to a dog chasing it's tail or a nat flying around a light bulb.  Their web site just takes one around in circles.  My listing are all canceled and I'm signed out.  I just wish all of my personal info. wasn't stuck on a web  site that appears to be run by utter thieves.  SELLER BEWARE.
