American Standard Moving Co. Contracted with co. for move from Ca to NYS. Ended up 5x the contract price to get items. Boca Raton
Contracted with American Standard Moving co. for move from Ca to NYS. $3600 total, $1200 immediately paid, $1200 pick up $1200 drop off. Company spokespmen said often the cost is even less then quoted. They always quote high. Co. then subcontracted with Brooklyn Movers without our permission or knowledge. Brooklyn Movers then said cost was $6700. At pick changed price to over $13000. Upon delivery a 3rd co was used from NYC to deliver and collect balance.
Brooklyn Movers and delivery co refused checks or credit cards. Required cash, money order, my opinion b/c they weren't paying taxes on the money. I contacted DA in Los Angeles where Brooklyn Movers were located. Blding inspector sent by DA in California to warehouse that was completely empty. DA said they have been having a lot of problems with this company.
Rec'd belongings in terrible shape and at a cost that all could have been purchased new and had money left over....All 3 companies are crooks. American Standard also blocked our calls requesting help with this fraud from the company they subcontracted with. Our contract was with American Standard not Brooklyn Movers.
