Amazon.com Amazon.com Gets Away With Taking My Son's $100 Giftcard Because We're From Mexico Seattle WA
I ordered a Play Station gift card for $100 for my son's birthday form Amazon.com. They locked me out of my account and did not give me any explanation. I emailed amazon and demanded to know why they locked me out of my account and did not email my son his Play Station gift card. They told me the IP address I was using was blacklisted in an anti-SPAM database.
I told them I could no afford my own internet connection so I occasionally uses coffee shop hot spot. They told me that was irrelevant and if I wanted them to unfreeze my account I must submit all my ID papers. I sent them me green card and tax payer ID and they told me they cannot verify a green card or tax payers and I must apply for a driver's license and social security card and submit these documents.
I stood in line for hours at the DMV and got an ID card, which arrived 2 weeks later. I sent this to them and told them I cannot get a social security card, only a tax payer ID because I am only in the US on a work visa. They don't reply to my emails anymore and when I call them they just put me on hold for hours and waste my cell phone bill when I tell them my name. Now my son think me don't love him because he get no gift for his birthday.

Hmmm, y'all wouldn't be related to the lady a few posts before yours who said Amazon locked her out for trying to buy a hotels.com gift card, presumably with an amazon gift card, supposedly for her 18 year old who got stranded in Rochester with no money and had to prostitute herself to pay for the hotel room her locked out mom couldn't pay for, because she only had $20 cash.
Gift card rich and cash poor, homeless in Rochester NY in dead of winter. Never know what you'll end up reading when you click into a report out of curiosity why Amazon keeps locking gift carders out.

You could have bought at Amazon gift card from any retail store. They sell them everywhere. If you are here in the US then you must abide by the laws which the person who filed the rebuttal stated. Amazon has not a clue or could care less if you are here from Mars. YOU need to do things the legal way.
Get over the "my son don't think me love him". There are laws that apply to every country when in another country on a visa. Stop with the whining and do the right thing. IF you do not want to be a Legal Citizen then you are subject to the laws that apply to US citizens. Funny I never had to submit paperwork to Amazon to prove I was a citizen.

There are a bunch of things in your post that don't make any sense. If Amazon locked you out of your account, why didn't you buy the gift card directly from Sony? Or from a corner store? Sounds like you were perhaps trying to use Amazon gift cards you acquired somewhere else to buy more gift cards. That's a very common fraud pattern and of course it will cause your account to be locked.
Second, you claim to have a green card, and then you say you are only here on a work visa. Which is it? If you have a work visa, you should have an SSN or ITIN. How else does your employer pay your taxes?

If you are here on a work visa, then you need to apply for and obtain and Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, or ITIN. There are probably many places in your area where you can apply and obtain an ITIN. It is important for you to obtain an ITIN anyway if you are here on a work visa; in fact I would question the integrity of your employer if your employer allows you to work without an ITIN. An ITIN is specifically for persons who are unable to obtain a Social Security Number or card, for all of the reasons you state.
Now, obtaining an ITIN also allows you to be a part of the US system, meaning you file taxes, be a part of Social Security, etc... Once you becomea citizen, then Social Security can convert your ITIN number to a Social Security number (if I remember correctly, ITIN's begin with the numbers 99x).... If you don't obtain an ITIN, then you really should not be working. Sorry, but that's just the way it is legally.
BTW, Amazon cannot possibly blacklist you because of your name. They can blacklist you if you happened to use a public wi-fi spot that someone else used in the past to rip off Amazon. Another good reason to get a wi-fi for the home.
