In January 2017 I contacted Maytag-1-866-698-2538 to request service on my Maytag washer. They set me up for a service call from a company called Appliance Care of Texas-1-210-812-5575. A service technician came out to my home and diagnosed the problem He told me I needed a new lid to my washer and the base that the lid sits on. I inquired as to how much this would cost. He called Maytag and they told me it would be cheaper to buy the extended warranty for $350.00 so I did. When the technician left my home he told me he would call me when the parts came in. In February I was called and told the parts were in. I scheduled an appointment to have them put on my washer. When the technician got to my house the parts were all wrong. My washer is a metallic gray and the top he brought was white and he didn"t even have the second part-the base. He called Maytag again and they said they would have to reorder the parts. In March I got a call telling me the new parts had come in. Another service appointment was set and that was for April 6th. When the service man arrived at my house the second time the lid was still the wrong lid  and could not be installed and he didn't even have the base part. I learned yesterday that the base part to my washer was no longer available and now three months have passed and my washer is still not fixed and AIG has my money. They knew when they took my warranty money that the part was not available. They tried to stick a white lid on a damaged base and thought that I would accept this. They have my $350.00 warranty money and I am requesting that back. They are liars and thieves and they need to be stopped. My washer was purchased in 2013 for $1100.00. I find it hard to believe that the base has been discontinued in that length of time. I think they realized the parts to repair were going to cost way more than the price of the warranty. Now I must shop for a washer and I can assure you it will not be a Maytag or Whirlpool.
