I applied for an apartment with this company in 2019. I received a call from a Robert who manages Clark Residence located 306 Loma Drive Los Angeles, CA 90017. He told me to come in for an interview and bring a $35.00 money order. Once I arrived, he had me fill out an application. He then claimed to have run a background check on me in ten minutes. He said the report said I am a dangerous felon and a rapist. I have never been charged with any type of felony or sex crime. I am exposing this company for extortion. They also asked me for my banking information several times.
I didn't trust them so I didn't provide it. I asked him to fill out a W9 form and he refused. He has something to hide. When I left the building, a corrupt cop pulled up to the curb, but since I had a bodyguard with me, he didn't approach me. These people are involved in extortion.

They asked you to come in for an interview and bring a $35 money order. That sounds like an application fee which is normal if you are renting a place to live. I see application fees much higher than that where I am. I don't see the leap from application fee to extortion though - how did that come about?
As to the W9, why in the world would anyone fill out a W9 for you for an application fee? IMO there is some missing info in your complaint.
