My 1st new bed in 10 years & Sleepy’s included bed bugs for free
My old bed ripped in a move and I decided it was time to replace it. I was refered to Sleepys by a friend, so I went and picked out a new mattress, set. Three days later my new set along a frame arrived and was set up. I also got a mattress protector. With bed made including an extra protector of my own (didn't want to take any chances on warrenty) I enjoyed almost a week''s worth of sleep. Laundry day I pulledd sheets, my protector and put on new sheets (not my protector - still in laudry but I had the one bought at store still on the bed). That night I got bitten, the next night bitten again more than once. Then it was a frenzy, I felt like I was standing on a fire ant hill, I was eaten alive that night and ever since.
Let me state the following, I lived in my new residence for over 5 months, NO BUGS. Nothing had changed except the arrival of the new bed. All I had to do was sit on it and I was dinner.
I called the store left a message for my sales person, was told to call corporate & given the number, which I did on Monday. Monday I was told that they opened a file and had to send out someone to inspect the bed, I would receive a call in 24-48 hours, the next day I went to the store and showed my sales person my bitten/scabbed arms, explained my legs, back & nape were in similar condition. I got lots of empathy and assurance I would receive a call in time frame given, which came & went.
It wasn't until 72 hours of further bug abuse and a call from salesrep to corporate that I got a call. The Corporate rep, who insisted that I already had an infestation, they don't do inspections, they don't pay for fumigation, and they don't remove their product ( they've been told that I physically can't move the bed) they don't even want product back in one of their trucks to be taken to a dump.
When this 1st started I was will to pay for any differences in costs, had even selected a different mattress set slightly higher than the one I had.
But after the rounds of my calling the reps, it boils down to - "Sleepys is not liable for bed bugs" The plastic wrap used on mattresses / sets "prevents all infestations", nor acknowledge nor admit to accidental holes or breaks in seals.
So, the long/short of it - Sleepys insist I had a problem before receiving their product, I'm am not to compensated for any expense; once I pay for fumigation and remove their bed - they will "work" with me on gettin another set from their product AS IF
I now have medical bills, don't EVER WANT TO DEAL WITH THEM AGAIN and have to pay/find a way for fumigation & removal
