A few years ago I took a sales job with a food service like Colorado Prime. One of the owners was actually an Ex-Colorado Prime manager. What a scam. They work ona a points system instead of telling you what each item costs. They also throw in some groceries to make it diffcult to figure out what you are paying for each item. They never tell you how their points system works, but if are aware that the use this system and you ask them the dollar value of each point, they tell you they don't know. It's a lie. They won't tell you because if you knew the point dollar value, you could figure out what you are paying for each item.
When I found out how the system worked and figured out the point values, I was in shock. Filet mignon was about $25 per pound. Sirloin was $22 per pound. Our 5 pound prime rib roast came to about $180 or roughly $36 per pound. What a scam. Not long after I found this out, I quit. I was approached by another company, because I had a reputation as a great salesperson and was told they were different, Much better. Another lie. Same old s**t! They scammed the customers the exact same way the other guys did.
The food is ridiculously overpriced and the appliances are also. Think about it. If they can offer you a 50% or 60% discount on the food for life, if you buy 3 or 4 of their appliances, isn't the food therefore overpriced to begin with? Your d**n right it is! The bottom line here is, don't ever do business with any company that comes to your home and tries to sell you a food servcie plan.
FYI - One of the owners of the first company I worked for in Bristol, PA once told me, his business has caused numerous divorces because the husband was totally against taking the plan, but the wife wanted it so badly he would let her buy the plan.
Once the truth was found about about how much of a ripoof it was, the hus. and wife would often fight over it, ultimately ending in divorce. As he told me his story he was laughing and thought itr was hilarious. What an a*****e.
Another owner who lived in Long Island, and acted like he was some sort of Mafia hit man, told me there are 2 kinds of people in the world. The f**kers and the f*ckees. Which one do I want to be. Based on that I quit! I disagree. There can be legitimate buyers and sellers and if business is done in the proper manner, both will benefit due to the sale.
Beware of any product sold in the home. They are all way overpriced.
