My name is Theresa and I am an employee of AmericanFone or as it appears on your bill, AMR LD. There has been confusion in the past and some consumers have linked us to Direct One, whom we have acquired customers from, and think we are one in the same. Let me clarify, we are not. In response to Barbara in Bellevue, Nebraska's letter, I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. Many customers we acquired from another phone company were not treated properly. At AmericanFone, we strive to give the best customer care. After reading Barbara's post, I reviewed her canceled account info. She was billed for our services thru and shows she registered with the site on 03-31-2002. Now upon further review I saw that we had FULLY refunded her all her charges back to her credit card in August of last year. Hopefully, this will help clear up some confusion. I know dealing with phone companies sometimes can be a pain, but we do try to give the best cutomer care and keep our customers satisfied, and if they are not satisfied, we do not hesitate to fully refund them for our services.
