I saw on Coin & Collectible TV an offer for an evidence bag of recovered evidence coins from Ft. Knox.  The presenter said that these were evidence items made available for sale because the cost to Ft. Knox to sort and grade items was prohibitive so they offer them to him for sale.  He maintained that in the bag there would be gold for sure. He claimed that they were packaged at Ft. Knox and his part was to let them know how many were sold and they would ship them to him and he would distribute them to those interested in buying.  The price as $129.10 plus $11.00 Shipping/Handling for a total of $140.10.

When I received my bag I opened it to find 3 tiny plastic vials of gold flakes.  I weighed each vial and they came at 1.5 drams each.  Then  I weighed the "gold" and it really felt like no gold I've ever panned.. It came out to be .6 drams. I cannot test for carat value so it's a guess as to what their real value is.  In addition I received 5 US Mint Proof sets 1971,1972,1974,1977,1998 and in the Blue Book that total value is 20.50.  There were 5 slabbed coins.  a 300 a.d. silver Constantine coin totally unable to read any details, a Widow's Mite bronze coin 50 b.c.-400 a.d. totally illegible, 1902 Indian Penny Good,1946 Jefferson Nickel G, a 1913 fair all from Internation Numismatic Bureau (??) these are worth squat.  If the Constantine is silver a tiny value.  This is a major rip off.  AT best guess this bunch of junk can't be worth more than $30 tops.  I should have read your reviews before I dropped my $140.10.  Stay clear of this fraudster!!!!!

They promised a grab bag of coins with some gold in it.  You got a grab bag of coins with some gold.  What did you think was going to be in it?  Did they ever say the coins were going to be worth anything?  The kind of stuff that would end up in a grab bag is the kind of stuff that is impossible to sell otherwise.  And all the nonsense about "evidence bags" is just that -- advertising puffery that has no legal or contractual significance.
