Tracfone Wireless, Dropped my service although I had paid for AutoPay Ripoff Miami Florida

Last February I responded to a TracFone E-mail describing an offer for a new phone plus air time and service for 6 months.

I had my remaining time from old phone transferred to new phone and AutoPay information updated. About a week later new phone quit. The time was transferred back to old phone while waiting for corrective action. A second new phone was received and time was again tranfered from old phone. I requested Autopay service again and was billed $7.99 for a second time in February (2/7/06 and 2/23/06).

On 08/07/06 while on rout to a doctor's appointment (80 miles from home) I tried to use the TracFone to call my Daughter.

There was no service. The AutoPay service states: "While currently on any AutoPay Service, TracFone services will remain active despite any due date reflected on your TracFone display"

Appearently the February problems with the new phone were not handled properly with regard to AutoPay. I recived no warnings via E-mail or phone, phone just stopped working.

When I returned home and called TracFone they insisted that the only way I can get service restored is to purchase more time.

I talked to several supervisors and they said they do not have the authority to correct problem. They also had no record of my phone having Autopay, they had no way of verifying my AutoPay payments.

I had to start over, purchase more time and sign up for AutoPay again.
