We went to the Sears Appliance store by us and bought a refrigerator. We got what we wanted for $1325 - about $275 lower than the original price - including tax and delivery. $75 of the $275 was because we agreed to take the display model. My husband, John, asked the sales guy to do one of their "guaranteed lowest price check" and he did. He said it was the lowest price. After we got home John spent a few minutes on the computer and found the very same refrigerator - same make, same model # - at Sears for $1000 including tax and delivery. He went back to the store and talked to the salesman, Eric. Eric said, "I didn't know about the lower price and no one else in the store did either." (How did he know "no one else" knew about the price? He said he just found about it himself so he didn't have a chance to ask the others if they knew about it.) Eric cancelled the old order and wrote up the new one for delivery from the warehouse - brand new - for $1000. I filed a complaint with the FTC. We'll see what happens.

You got what you wanted, the brand new fridge for 1000$ Sears ACTUALLY honoring a policy. And you complain?

I used to be in Sales, there is no way anybody knows what every price is on every object from online and through the Register computer. Both systems work differently (Registers only show brick and mortar prices while Sears.com is a different entity that has its own sales from time to time)

But hey you got what you wanted what the fuss?
