I'm not sure who I have to go through to make people aware of crummy business practices.

The business name is Royal Camera in New York. The website is
www.royalcamera.com.

Ordering a camera online is simple and easy, and the prices are very competitive. However, when you call to confirm your order (required for your merchandise to ship), you are bombarded with pushy salesman selling overpriced accessories. This is halfway understandable, as the business does need to make money. But you don't have to make money screwing your customer.

Yesterday, I called to confirm my order of the Nikon Coolpix 995. The price on the website says $499. I have already
bought any accessories I want, so I told the sales rep to not offer me anything more. Well he did anyway. Then he stated that the price of the camera is $599. Apparently there is a $100 rebate on this camera (through Nikon, so it is valid), not listed anywhere on the website, nor does the website mention any rebate on ANY camera it sells. The sales rep kept referring to the "About" page where it supposedly says that prices on the
website reflect rebates. This is not the case, a quick search of the website shows no instances of the words rebate or discount.

Also, this company removes the battery and charger from the camera package and sells them separately (at the cost of $180, but there is a $100 rebate for this as well). If it sells factory fresh, unopened merchandise, the camera would
include the charger and the battery, as it comes from the manufacturer. Yet another deceit, while trying to get your business.

A final problem with this business: the sales associate specified that he would not sell me the camera unless I bought accessories from him. Even if I already owned them, he wanted to me to buy more of the same accessories from him.

This business is bologna. It's host to a bunch of fast talking sales representatives who attempt to sell by making the customer feel bad for not buying more of their overpriced accessories.

It is not worth the effort for the consumer to do business here. The prices are phony.

Thanks for your time.
