Purchased RCA DVD/VCR from Wal-Mart February '08 from the Wal-Mart store on Greenwood in Corpus Christi, TX. Purchased extended warranty from Wal-mart. I was supposed to get a replacement unit if not repairable. Sent unit in for repair in October. 14-21 day turnaround. Called Thompon's in middle of December, unit not repairable, Thompson's wont replace, will refund price of unit but not price of warranty contract. Wal-Mart wont stand behind warranty either because extended warranty doesn't kick in until factory warranty expires. Wal-Mart wont let me have another unit. I am getting $185 back from Thompson but it will be 6 to 8 week from today, 1-6-09. Why so long???? Why wont Wal-Mart, Thompson or RCA honor Extended Warranties???? I sent in a request to get my $20 back from Wal-Mart for the extended warranty but haven't heard back from them.

I am beseeching people not to buy RCA products neither should you buy electronics from Wal-Mart. If you choose to buy from Wal-Mart please do not purchase the extended warranty. If you choose to buy the extended warranty, then you MUST NOT send your unit in for factory repair but must wait until factory warranty expires before you use the extended warranty.
