First the toll charges are based on camera surveillance.  In Nov and Dec 2009, I had $67.06 in charges.  First invoice was in Jan 2010. with 2nd invoice two weeks later adding $2.00 late fee.  I paid that when I paid other bills.  They never cashed that payment.  Then two weeks later, I got an invoice for $1467.06. ($1400.00 in administrative fees)  that would be reduced to $529.06 if paid by 3-23-10.  I paid.  There is no recourse, no court to appeal to.  They told me if I didn't pay, they would take me to court and have $250.00 per citation instead of the $25.00.  I believe this to be unconstitutional- the cameras, the huge fees, and being taxed by people who were not elected.  The workings of these Regional Mobility Authorities is not subject to Open Records Act.  But folks, this is the tip of the iceberg, the larger issue is the Trans Texas Corridor, to be paid for by Texas taxpayers and the carving up of our state to please Canada and Mexico.  Research the Transportation Code HB 3588.  Join a tea party with these issues and contact the Senators and House Reps.
