DON'T BUY LIKOM MONITORS IF YOU EXPECT TO GET YOUR REBATE CHECK!
DON'T LET LIKOMUSA CHEAT YOU TOO!

I started wondering when my rebate check was going to arrive when my my 17" Likom monitor died at the 80 day mark. I when home and searched the internet for "Likom." When I first found the Rip Off Reports, I was surprised and angered to see such an alarming number of people ripped off by this company! The reports I saw were only from people who found the site and actually reported. The Better Business Bureau confirmed what has been said on this site regarding unfulfilled rebates.

Why aren't there lawsuits if some many people are being cheated? I don't understand what keeps this business from shutting down. Maybe they change their company name every few years or so as complaints arise. "Likom" is the same thing a "Futura" monitors and "Viewmate". See the BBB report for their a.k.a.'s.

This are the email messages I have sent regarding my rebate check. (My personal information has been removed.)

I bought a LikomUSA 17" Monitor almost 80 days ago but I have not seen the rebate check arrive yet. The rebate was sent just days after purchasing the monitor. I am sure the rebate form was properly filled out.

My information is listed below. Can you please tell me what the status is on my rebate check?

Thank you,

David Jones

Lydia:

You need to send my rebate check. It has been approximately 80 days since I sent my rebate claim. It has been three full business days since I sent my previous email attempting to resolve this problem, but I haven't seen a response. I properly filled out the form with special attention to the intricate instructions.

I am concerned with the credibility of the rebate program. As I was walking out of Fry's Electronics, after exchanging my monitor that had just died, I started wondering about my rebate check. After looking on some Internet sites, to say others have had problems would be a terrible understatement.

I have read on websites such as http://www.ripoffreport.com or http://badbusinessbureau.com, an alarming number of posts regarding Likom's rebates not being fulfilled. Search the rip off reports web site with the keyword "Likom" and read some of them. These are just a few posts: Likom / Futura monitors rebates rip-off, no repairs / Futura monitor rebate goes unanswered / Likom USA Corporation Purchase of Monitor Rebate Rip-off Other e-commerce websites have also posted warnings on their website. http://www.futurequesttech.com/futura_info.htm

From what I have read on the Internet and from what I have experienced, I believe people are being cheated on a large scale. I am out $50 myself. The fact that the monitor broke so soon and the LikomUSA Fulfillment Center rebate department appearantly lacks integrity, causes me to question the management and the company as a whole. Needless to say, my experience with this company so far have been very poor and I feel cheated.

I would like to resolve the issue with my rebate check this week. You may send it to me at (address). I would prefer to keep this simple, otherwise I will find it necessary to start pursuing this through the Southland Better Business Bureau and possibly other routes.

Mr. Jones,
A status will be e-mailed to you tomorrow. What was the exact date of purchase?

I bought it on Aug 13th, 2001

As I write this it is November 13th, and I haven't received a response. The "status" was never sent. I'm now on day 92 of waiting for this "rebate check."

Under ideal circumstances, I shouldn't have needed to email Likom at all regarding my rebate, let alone email them 3 times now and at best receive a short one line email with a broken promise. The way Likom company does business is criminal and it completely disgusts me. I say this because others have also been ripped off the exact same way. Search the rest of rip off reports.

I will now check www.ripoffreport.com and BBB before I buy. Thanks ripoffreport.com!

Likom sent the check, but not after a lot of hassle and wasted time

They sent the rebate check. I received it on the 113 day mark after purchasing my monitor. Doesn't that seem like a pathetically long amount of time?

Yes, they do send rebate checks, but from my experience, not after an unfair amount of time and effort. More time and effort than most people have or are willing to give in order to get their rebate check. To get my rebate, I sent four or more emails to Lydia, several of them were not answered and I filed with the Southland Better Business Bureau (http://www.bbbsouthland.org) and ripoffreport.com before I got a response from Richard Arrata. I sent him three emails, and received two phone calls from Likom. They couldn't get their act together until after I sent my information at least 10 different ways.

This doesn't count the amount of time and confusion involved in the whole process. Maybe Likom is a company issuing seemingly impossible to redeem rebates because the economy is down. Maybe they are good people working there with horrible working conditions. Or maybe I they are stealing the money. In any case, people are not receiving there rebate checks on a massive scale. Take $40 or $50 and for each person who posted a rip off report. Add to that the amount of people who found ripoffreport.com but haven't posted. Then add the others who haven't found the ripoffreport.com, (which I think is safe to say a majority of the purchasers). The money adds up.

Something is wrong at Likom. People shouldn't not have to send anything more than their rebate claim form to promptly get their rebate check.
