Jefferson Capital Systems, Fingerhut ripoff Saint Cloud Minnesota
I got this phone number from Cox Communications Directory Assistance today, April 28, 2005. This company failed to credit my account for returned items and continuously added trumped up finance charges. As a result, all payments did not reduce the bill. I tried paying the $733 in full to its collection agency, but it was returned to my bank electronically in 2003. After contacting it in writing in 2003, explaining this and asking for a re-payment installment plan, I never heard anything from them. Nevertheless, this company continues to report to the credit reporting agencies that I am delinquent AND it reports it twice - Once as Fingerhut and Once as Jefferson Capital Systems. So, my FICO score is suffering and I can't get this resolved. Will try again and will post an update.

After experiencing the telephone tree runaround, I have discovered that Fingerhut/Jefferson Capital Systems sold its collection accounts (e.g., receivables) that were open before 2002 to Compu Credit Corporation. Apparently this company continues to mess up former customers' credit reports w/duplicate reporting. I will follow up with a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission and any other government agency I can find about this dual reporting. Anyways, you can contact this company at:
