I am an ex employee of Jasper Contractors or Jasper Roofing.  I am writing this for one purpose only--so other unsuspecting salesman are not taken advantage of.

As a new employee with a title of Account Manager, they require you get a contract a day.  They do not care if the roof has damage or is brand new, they want you to sign the contract.  Signing a contract means the homeowner filing a claim with their insurance company.  This gets the ball rolling and has the insurance company  send an adjuster to inspect the roof.  Most of Jasper's contracts get denied but they don't care as their business model is to just push for contracts.

Jasper's model is extremely lucrative as they push all their Account Manager's for 12 hours a day for 6 days a week to get as many contracts as you can.  85-90% of all Account Manager's hired will be terminated before their 90 day trial period is up!!!  This means, Jasper gets to keep all the commissions which were not paid in full at the point of termination.  Jasper has all employees sign a contract saying they are on a "trial employment" for 90 days and you can be terminated at any point for any reason.  Jasper's strategy is to fire 90% of all am's before the 90 days and keep all the commissions.

Jasper hires Field Managers to whip all their account managers into shape everyday and make sure they are hitting their numbers.  The field managers get a base pay of 65k plus a split of all the commissions that go back "in house" from the people they fired.  All field managers know that 90% of account managers will be fired but they make you believe you are going to be a lifer at the company and be promoted.

To give you an example of how they hire and fire consider what happened just with me.  My class started at the beginning of the storm in Colorado with 13 guys.  After two weeks, I was the only guy left in my starting class.  Every week after I started there was a new class that started and each class had 8-15 new hires.  After nearly 3 months after I started only me and one other guy were left.  Right before my 3 months was up they fired me for not collecting a check the day we installed a roof.  The check was for $500 and nearly all of Jasper employees have accounts where they cannot collect checks for weeks and months.  This is not an account managers fault, this is a ultimately up to the homeowner to pay.

I was second in the company for revenue and I was first for total net profit for the company.  In addition, I had the most amount of contracts per month out of anyone in the company ( because i was playing their game even though I disagreed with their strategy).

I have a family with children that need to be fed.  I took this job not knowing that Jasper will fire you or anyone despite how hard you work.  Never think you are special or you can outperform your way to a promotion--this is next to impossible with Jasper.

Thanks for reading
