Jasper Contractors Jasper Roofing New roof failed inspection twice and still leaks, now getting the run around Baton Rouge, Louisiana
The first snow melt a week after our new roof was installed by Jasper Contractors aka Jasper Roofing resulted in every upper ceiling becoming wet and stained.
The roof failed inspection the first time due to the tar paper being cut too short by 3 to 4 inches and not reaching the edge of the roof all the way around the house.
Ceilings in 6 rooms are water damaged due to the leaky new roof and need to be painted and possibly need mold mitigation.
Attempted repairs fixed most of the leaks but not all.
The roof failed inspection a second time due to the repairs being done incorrectly. Jasper has ignored this.
Their president Carl McNair is giving me the run around by telling me they will fix the leaks yet has not authorized his people to do so. When I call to schedule repairs their supervisor Richard Mead either hangs up on me or says he can not do anything unless Carl says so then says he will check with Carl and get back to me which never happens.
The owner Brian Wedding refuses to return my calls.
Carl McNair refuses to accept responsibility for the water damage to my home.
Since Jasper has become uncooperative and stopped returning my calls I have turned this over to the Better Business Bureau for resolution. Jasper did not respond to the BBB and now the issue has disappeared from the BBB web site. I left a message two weeks ago for the BBB representative assigned to this issue and they have not returned my call.
I replaced the roof in preparation for selling my home last year thinking this would be a good selling point and now I can not sell it with a leaking roof because the Jasper warranty is not transferable.
The roof still leaks and causes the ceiling to get wet after every snow melt or rain.
There are multiple damaged tiles from careless use of the trim knife.
The starter tiles were installed wrong causing no seal.
The wrong drip edge was installed causing the tiles to level out at the edge slowing water run off.
The ceiling was cracked when a Jasper supervisor jumped down from a higher level instead of waiting for a ladder that was being brought to him.
The gutter is damaged from Jasper's ladders.
I paid for but did not receive the following items:
$409.37 for new chimney flashing
$209.48 for 33.25 LF of step flashing and only 3 LF was installed.
$61.86 for 19.33 LF of 14" flashing to tie in metal porch roof.
$61.33 for a replacement exhaust cap, instead was painted.
$192.80 for permits and only $90.44 was used.
I need help dealing with Jasper Contractors to receive what I paid for which is a properly installed, non leaking roof plus damages repaired.

Storm chasers are considered to be companies that dont have offices anywhere near, if they even have an office at all. Jasper has 12 offices open covering most major cities nationwide. They can back up their warranties, as they did in my case. They've also been in business since 2004.
Just wanted some FACTUAL clarification.

1. I truly saved that much on my 58sq home when compared to a 3 tab cost which I had estimated twice.
2. I majored in construction so in my humble opinion... Why in the world would you want a 3-tab? It has substantially less integral capacity (against hail hits/damage), it doesn't last anywhere near as long as an architectural shingle, and above all it looks like absolute garbage compared to an architectural (which at Jasper you can get at the same price as a 3-tab).
Jasper was a great company for me to work with and on top of helping me with my roof they helped out 3 of my good friends too where all of them were greatly satisfied and they gave me 300$ for refering my friends!!!!
Like I said before, I think there's something this guy is leaving out of his story.
Thanks,
Jon

They tell you that they r giving you an up grade for free! HAHA the jokes on you the O.C 30 yr shingles are only about $1-2 dollars a square more than the the 25year three tab shingles! Plus they truck in the shingles they use so they dont have to pay a suppliers! Also if you want to see something funny ask them to install an 25 yr three tab shingle the guys they have working cant do it the correct way! All in all they r the biggest storm chasers in the nation and alot of insurance companys wont come out for there claims!! One thing i cansay if you see there trucks rolling into your town lock your door unplug you door bells and put a pitbull on your front porch to keep them away!

I had my roof put in November of 2011. In March I had noticed a leak in my utility room. That evening I called my sales guy and a Jasper Superintendent was at my home less than an hour later at around 930 at night. They did an on the spot fix then came out the next day and repaired the entire section.
I was told if they didn't get it taken care of within a certain time frame they could be repremanded or even fired by their owner and that he takes their workmanship warranty very seriously and looks into every complaint.
If I had to guess, there must be something fishy you are leaving out of this story. Jasper was above and beyond professional. They did everything they said they'd do and some including a free 1600$ upgrade in shigle type.
Have a great day!
