Hudson Leasing-Electronic Merchant Systems Credit Card Machine-Leasing Non-Cancelable- Total Rip Off Cleveland Ohio
I bought a business in 2007 and the sales people from Electronic Merchant Systems were calling non stop to get an appointment to make a demo on their credit card machine. When the sales person came, she was trying to convince me that I needed the machine for the valentines day because the flowershop is going to be very busy.
The third time she came over, she had brought two more people with her including the manager to help her convince me to lease the machine. I finally signed the contract without reading 5 pages of fine prints. After 7 months I had to sell the business because I wasn't making any money and Hudson Leasing and Electronic Merchants System were charging me so much. Some charges were not even mentioned in the demo (surprise, surprise).
I called them and told them that I sold the business, what do I need to do with the machine, can I return it? They said I can cancel it but there is $385.00 penalty and if the new owner will assume the lease, I would get my $385.00 back. However, if he doesn't assume the machine, I would have to pay the balance of $ 3,200.78. I told them that I already lost $65, 000 from the business and I don't have anything left. The new owner had decided to help me out and returned the machine to Hudson Leasing but they are still harrasing me for payments. They threatened me that they would turn over the case to a lawyer and they did. So I got calls and letters from the lawyers office and just waiting on what they would do next.
