Rec'd a letter with an internal address of WALMART Hqtrs, 702 8th Street., Bentonville, Arkansas 72716 which is the correct address of the Walmart Headquarters. The phone number, however, is a recorded message from the scammer which instructs how to fulfill the confusing instructions and lead the victim to depositing the check enclosed. The email is www.summermallsreview.com. The letter is signed by Greg A. Larson, Director of Operations.
I called Walmart Headquarters at their correct phone number and spoke to a customer service attendant who told me that Walmart receives over 100 calls daily to report the bogus checks. Do not try to deposit these checks. The scammer will be able to steal your money.
Please help others and report, report, report. Tell Walmart so they can see how big this scam and if it is getting bigger. Customer service said the scam comes from Spain. If you got scammed, you can still help others beat these bad guys.
