I had a secured credit card with First Premier Bank, which I cancelled in February. I was told to pay a balance of $ 63.31 to close the account. I paid this amount and thought this would be the end. In April I received another bill which did not show that I closed the account. Now I owed another $ 37.00. I called to find out what was wrong. I learned that the amount I paid to have a secure credit card was not applied towards the balance, although I had requested this a month earlier. Now, because of their error, I owed late charges and fincance charges. I spoke with two different customer service iron maidens who kept telling me that I was in the wrong and that I had no recourse. Had First Premier applied the secured amount towards the balance when I requested it, there would not have been a late fee, nor additional finance charges. I feel exploited and ripped off. How can a business such as this one get away with bad business practices like that? Camilla Shasta, California
